Anxiety and Sexuality

This study aims to contribute to the sparse understanding of the relationships between anxiety and sexuality among patients who received treatment for anxiety disorders, including the examination and comparison of the associations between anxiety, mental health, sexual health, sexual functioning, sexual satisfaction, and quality of life, respectively. The research also investigates how patients with anxiety experience the healthcare system’s handling of sexual topics, whether it is important to them that sexuality is taken into account in the course of their treatment and what they experience as promoting/hindering the discussion of sexuality with healthcare personnel when this becomes relevant. The project is a cross-sectional multicenter study across 11 of the country’s public anxiety clinics, and the target group for the study is anxiety patients over the age of 18 who are offered treatment at 11 selected public anxiety clinics in Denmark over 1 year.
