GERT MARTIN HALD, PhD

GMH is a licensed psychologist, Ph.D., specialist in clinical sexology, Associate Professor of Medical Psychology, Research leader of the ‘Sexuality and Interpersonal Relations Research Group (SIR)’ and Head of Section of Environmental Health at the Department of Public Health at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) since 2015. GMH was awarded the Carlsberg Distinguished Associate Professor Fellowship (2016-19). In 2019, he and the research group were awarded the prestigious Innovation Prize (2019) from UCPH for their evidence-based digital divorce platform ‘Cooperation after Divorce’, developed at UCPH and now implemented in Denmark, Sweden, and Iceland. GMH is on the editorial board of Archives of Sexual Behavior and Journal of Sex Research and a reviewer for multiple journals, including Nature. GMH research areas and interests cover divorce; relationship matching, forming and development; digital health; healthy sexual aging; mental health and sexuality; sexual dysfunctions; pornography; attractiveness; psychiatric disorders; individual and relationship therapy. GMH research has been disseminated in numerous media in Denmark and abroad, and GMH is considered an expert in sexuality and relationship research. GMH has extensive research leadership and management experience from both national and international research collaborations and supervises at all levels of academia. In 2020 his mentee assistant professor Jenna Strizzi won the prestigious Taylor and Francis Young Investigator Award.

Lone Schmidt, DMSc, PhD, MD is Professor wsr within public health and infertility at the Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen (UCPH), Denmark. During 30 years she has conducted reproductive health research with a focus on family formation, infertility and assisted reproduction, and prevention of infertility. She established in 2000 an international, cross-disciplinary research programme (The Copenhagen Multi-centre Psychosocial Infertility (COMPI) Research Programme); one of the leading research group internationally within this field. Her research includes both epidemiological and qualitative studies as well as interventions studies. LS has more than 160 publications and her research has great media attention both in Denmark and abroad. She has extensive research leadership and management experiences and is reviewer for multiple high-ranking journals within reproductive health.

JENNA MARIE STRIZZI, PhD

Jenna Strizzi is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark). She received a B.A. in Human Sexuality Studies from the University of Connecticut (USA), an M.S. in Sexology (2010), and a Ph.D. in Psychology of Sexuality (2014) from the University of Almeria (Spain). She then completed three post-doctoral fellowships in three countries. She has been researching sexuality and interpersonal relationships since 2010 including sexual minority experiences, sexual functioning among traumatic brain injury survivors, sexual violence and quality of life, and the relationships between anxiety and sexual functioning.

Camilla S. Øverup is a postdoc at the Unit of Medical Psychology, Department of Public health, at University of Copenhagen, Denmark. She received a B.A. in Psychology from Marshall University, WV, USA, in 2009, and an M.A. in Psychology (2012) and Ph.D in Social Psychology (2015) from University of Houston, TX, USA. She then worked as an Assistant Professor in the School of Psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University, NJ, USA, before moving back to Denmark and joining the Sexuality and Interpersonal Relations Research Group. Her research interests lie broadly within the intersection of the self and romantic relationships, and she has researched sexuality, intimate partner violence, and how individual differences influence romantic relationship cognitions and evaluations. She has recently begun work on developing relationally-based interventions.

Ana Cipric is a Ph.D. fellow in the Sexuality and Interpersonal Relationships Research Group at the Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in the Graduate Program of Public Health and Epidemiology under the supervision of Dr. Gert Martin Hald, with a focus on divorce. Prior to her joining the group, Ana earned Master’s degrees in Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Zagreb under the supervision of Dr. Aleksandar Štulhofer and Dr. Darko Polšek. Her research interests are primarily related to social epidemiology of mental and sexual health, and social science research methodology.

Silvia Pavan is a Ph.D. fellow in the Sexuality and Interpersonal Relationships Research Group at the Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in a joint programme between the Graduate Programme of Public Health and Epidemiology at the University of Copenhagen under the supervision of Dr. Gert Martin Hald, and the Faculty of Health at Deakin University  (Melbourne, Australia) under the supervision of Dr. David Austin, with a focus on mental health and registerbased epidemiology. Prior to joining the group, Silvia earned a Master’s degree in Global Health at the University of Copenhagen. Her research interests primarily concern the spheres of mental and sexual health, and social and register-based epidemiology.

Christine Lehane has a joint affiliation as an Associate Researcher at the Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen, Denmark as well as a UX Researcher in the Community Integrity Team at Facebook, Seattle. Christine received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Copenhagen in 2018. Her PhD and subsequent Postdoc research focused on how couples cope with illness and disability, particularly sensory impairments. Most recently, Christine has been conducting research on the family effects of radicalization with particular interest in how belief in extreme conspiracy theories can impact family cohesion.

He received a Ph.D. in Sociology, in 1996, from the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Currently, he is the Head of Sexology Unit at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. His research topics are sexual risk-taking in adolescence and emerging adulthood, healthy sexual aging, pornography use and problematic pornography use, vaccine hesitancy, and radical social egalitarianism. Bente Træen is a professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Oslo, Norway.  She received a Ph.D. in the field of epidemiology/sexology from the University of Oslo, Norway, Medical Faculty, in 1993. She then worked at the National Institute of Alcohol and Drug Research, National Institute of Public Health,  University of Tromsø (Norway), and lastly the University of Oslo (current position).  She has been researching sexuality and sexual behaviour, alcohol use, and frequenting public drinking places, as well as research in human-animal interaction and mental health issues.
